3-1560

Overview

The 3-1560 is a nose wheel assembly used on Bombardier Global Express, Global Express XRS, Global 5000, Global 5500, Global 6000, and Global 6500. Manufactured by Goodrich.

Every tire change replaces the tire, the main wheel-half preformed packing (O-ring), the valve cap, and the valve core. Specific part numbers and dash sizes vary by wheel and are pulled from the CMM at the time of service.

During tire change or NDT inspection, additional parts beyond the routine four may require replacement if they fail inspection or meet the rejection criteria defined in the CMM.

A full overhaul includes all parts replaced at tire change (listed above), plus the following components inspected and replaced per the CMM:

These components are part of the wheel assembly but are not replaced during a standard tire change or overhaul. They are only replaced when inspection per the CMM identifies a rejectable condition. APSS stocks or sources these parts on request — contact us for current availability.

The structural components of the wheel assembly itself. These are not replaced on a standard service and come into play only when damage, corrosion, or cracks exceed the repair limits established by the CMM.

General overhaul criteria — see the CMM for full specifications and numeric limits:

• •Drive keys: replace if damaged, corroded, or loose.
• •Heat shield: replace if cracked, burned, or mechanically damaged.
• •Bolts and nuts: replace if cracked, corroded, thread-damaged, or failing the back-off torque test.
• •Bearings (cones and cups): replace if spalled, discolored from heat, pitted, or showing any surface wear.
• •Wheel halves: replace if cracked, out-of-round beyond CMM limits, or showing seal-groove damage.
• •Preformed packings and O-rings: replace at every disassembly.
• •Retaining rings and lockwire: replace whenever removed.
