Aircraft Wheel Expertise at the Core of What We Do

Aircraft wheel assemblies are among the most safety-critical components on any aircraft. We service 96 wheel assemblies across BF Goodrich, Meggitt-Parker, Messier-Bugatti, and Cleveland — from regional turboprop nose wheels to business jet main gear, backed by in-house Eddy Current, Magnetic Particle, and Dye Penetrant inspection.

We serve operators, MROs, and flight departments across the U.S. and internationally with published pricing, 48-hour tire change turnaround, and the 8130-3 documentation package your records require.

The Overhaul Process

From Worn to Airworthy

Every wheel that enters our shop goes through a rigorous multi-step process. Watch the animation to see how a worn, oxidized wheel is transformed back to OEM specification — cleaned, inspected, refinished, and certified for return to service.

Each step follows manufacturer CMM procedures to the letter. Nothing is skipped, nothing is rushed. The result is a wheel assembly you can trust with full FAA 8130-3 documentation.

NDT Inspection Services

NDT is performed in-house under our FAA Part 145 scope (Limited Nondestructive Inspection and Testing rating, Certificate No. 6ERR311D). Every wheel is inspected before release so that cracks, porosity, and sub-surface defects are identified before they become in-service failures. Technicians are certified to NAS 410 / SNT-TC-1A Level II minimum across the three methods used on wheel assemblies.

Service Process

01
Visual Inspection
Detailed surface examination under controlled lighting to identify obvious cracks, corrosion, or deformation.
02
Eddy Current (ET)
Electromagnetic coil probe detects surface and sub-surface fatigue cracks in aluminum wheel halves, bead seat areas, and bolt holes. Primary method for conductive wheel bodies; no consumables and no surface preparation required.
03
Magnetic Particle (MT)
Used on ferromagnetic hardware only — tie bolts, axle sleeves, drive keys. Parts are magnetized and fluorescent iron particles reveal surface and near-surface discontinuities under UV. Not used on aluminum wheel bodies.
04
Dye Penetrant (PT)
Fluorescent or visible penetrant applied to non-porous surfaces. After dwell and developer, surface-breaking cracks are drawn out for inspection. Applies to any non-porous material; detects surface indications only.
05
Interpretation & Disposition
Certified Level II technician evaluates all indications against CMM acceptance/rejection criteria for the specific wheel assembly.
06
Documentation
Full NDT inspection report documenting method, equipment, results, and inspector certification. Included with every wheel release.

What's Included

  • Eddy Current (ET) — primary method for aluminum wheel halves, bead seats, and bolt holes
  • Magnetic Particle (MT) — ferromagnetic hardware only (tie bolts, sleeves, keys)
  • Dye Penetrant (PT) — surface-breaking defect detection on non-porous components
  • All inspectors certified to NAS 410 / SNT-TC-1A Level II minimum
